Free Advice & Support Services

Free, confidential advice is available to every Pāpāmoa resident on legal matters, employment, housing, budgeting and more - no appointment needed in most cases.

Citizens Advice Bureau - Tauranga (with Pāpāmoa outreach)

Free, confidential advice on consumer issues, employment, housing, benefits, legal questions, immigration, budgeting and family matters. CAB Tauranga has a Pāpāmoa outreach service, and offers a fortnightly free legal clinic and an immigration clinic at their Cameron Road office. Staffed entirely by trained volunteers.

Justice of the Peace - free drop-in at Pāpāmoa Library

JP service desks operate at 15 Gravatt Road three times a week with no appointment needed. JPs can witness signatures, certify copies of documents, and sign statutory declarations.

Building consents & resource consents

Required for most building work, new structures, extensions and some land use changes. Apply and check status online or call 07 577 2700. Allow adequate lead time - processing times vary.

Food Support

No one in Pāpāmoa should go without food. Several community organisations provide food assistance in the Tauranga / Pāpāmoa area.

Tauranga City Foodbank

Operating from multiple sites, Tauranga’s foodbank provides food parcels to individuals and families in need across the city including Pāpāmoa. No referral required for first-time visitors. Contact: 07 578 6081

Local churches & community pantries

Several Pāpāmoa churches and community organisations run informal food banks, community pantries and food-share programmes. Check the Pāpāmoa Community Facebook group for current local initiatives.

Work and Income NZ (WINZ)

Emergency food grants may be available to eligible individuals through WINZ. Call 0800 552 002 or visit the Tauranga WINZ office. You do not need to be on a benefit to request a one-off emergency food grant.

Pāpāmoa sports clubs

Gordon Spratt Reserve hosts a range of youth sports clubs including football, rugby league, touch and cricket. Contact TCC for current club contact details, or ask at the reserve.

Pāpāmoa Surf Life Saving Club - Nippers

The Pāpāmoa SLSC runs a Nippers programme for children aged 5–13 during summer. Ocean safety, beach sports and lifesaving skills. One of the most popular children’s programmes in the suburb.

Peer support and community groups covering grief, addiction, parenting, mental health and more - most at no cost.

Grief Support Services - monthly groups in Pāpāmoa

Subsidised counselling for individuals and families affected by grief and loss. Runs monthly drop-in groups in Pāpāmoa and Tauranga, plus the WAVES eight-week closed group for people bereaved by suicide (runs three times a year). Self-referral welcome - no GP referral needed.

Pāpāmoa Surf Life Saving Club

Volunteer patrol members provide beach safety every weekend and public holiday through summer. No prior experience required - training provided. Contact the club directly through their Facebook page.
