NZ Easter Trading Rules
New Zealand law restricts trading on some Easter holidays. As a general guide:
- Most shops are required to stay closed on Good Friday and until 1pm on Easter Sunday (some exemptions apply)
- Easter Saturday is a normal trading day with no restrictions
- Easter Monday is a public holiday but many businesses choose to open
- Pharmacies, petrol stations, dairies, cafes and some hospitality venues may trade with restrictions
