Pāpāmoa’s most scenic walking destination - tracks wind through a landscape containing seven historical Māori pā sites (fortified settlements) visible along the route. The main summit track takes approximately 45 minutes return and offers 360° views of the Bay of Plenty from Mount Maunganui to Makētu. Mountain biking tracks also available. Free entry. Note: partially reopened April 2026 after weather damage - check boprc.govt.nz for current track status before visiting.
Pāpāmoa’s family-friendly reserve with flat, paved walking and cycling paths suitable for all ages including pushchairs and young children. Sports fields, a skate park, a wetland walk and playground are also on site. Connects to the Pāpāmoa library at 15 Gravatt Road. Free entry and parking.
Pāpāmoa Beach runs for 16 kilometres and is walkable for its entire length. The beach is patrolled by surf lifeguards Oct–Apr at the Domain reserve area.
